All winning drawings can be viewed on the cooperative’s website www.unitedpower.com. The seven winning cards will be available for sale in a Holiday Card Variety pack in late November. Sales of the holiday cards benefit Operation Round-Up, United Power’s charitable foundation.
A committee of employees narrowed the selection to the top four entries in each grade category and then all employees were invited to vote anonymously for their favorite drawings. This is the second year United Power has held the Holiday Card Coloring Contest. The coloring contest asked children in grades kindergarten through sixth to illustrate “How Electricity Makes My Holidays Bright”. The drawings detailed holiday memories of baking cookies, gifts that require electricity to operate, holiday lights hung both inside and outside, and many more creative ideas.
